What is World Capitals Game?
World Capitals Game is a free geography quiz designed to help you learn, practice, and master the capitals of all 200 sovereign nations on Earth — from the obvious ones like Paris and Tokyo to the ones that will genuinely surprise you, like Yamoussoukro or Naypyidaw. No sign-up, no timer, no paywall. Just you and the map.
The project was born from a simple question: how many world capitals can you actually name without looking them up? Most people can get 20 or 30 without breaking a sweat. Getting to 100 feels like a real milestone. Reaching all 200 correctly is genuinely difficult — there are capitals in the Pacific Islands and Central Africa that even dedicated geography enthusiasts have never come across.
Game modes
The classic quiz shows you a country name — and optionally its flag — and asks you to type the capital. You can filter by continent to focus on a specific region: Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa, or Oceania. Your accuracy is tracked across every country you attempt, so you always know exactly where you stand.
Capital Streak is the daily challenge mode. Every day, all players worldwide receive the same sequence of countries, generated from a shared seed so no two days are alike. Answer correctly to extend your streak; one wrong answer — or running out of time on the 15-second timer — ends it. Your result is shareable, and the challenge resets at midnight UTC for everyone simultaneously.
Three languages, one world
World Capitals Game is fully available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese — including country names, capital cities, and all interface text.
